Lamborghini has just made an addition to their family. It's not a sleek performance car or outrageous concept, but rather a 3-meter tall, 11,000 square foot building that will play an important role in the sustained development of the manufacturer's infrastructure.

The new logistics centre is now open, located at Lambo's Sant'Agata Bolognese facility. Handling storage and distribution for the automakers main markets, it replaces an existing centre in Anzola Emilia, located about 20 kilometres away.

Stephen Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, was on hand to officially open the facility. He was joined by Jean-Fleury Garel, CEO of Gazeley. The latter company is one of Europe's premier logistics property organizations, and was responsible for managing the project.

Lamborghini says their new facility has space for over 14,000 pallets, and that it will be used as a warehouse for car production components, spare parts and merchandise. The high tech logistics centre utilizes fully automated processes, instant data transmission and constant control over information flow. A comfortable working environment and extremely streamlined operations are other highlights of the facility.

There's room to grow too- thanks to innovative structures which allow for easy future expansion.
