It's autoshow season, and manufacturers are presenting concepts that will hint at the future design of vehicles in their lineups.
Subaru is no exception. The Japanese automaker famous for safety and symmetrical all wheel drive has announced they their Legacy Concept will be making its world debut next month.
The Legacy Concept will appear at the North American International Auto Show from January 17 to 25, 2009. Celebrating 20 years of the Legacy Sedan, Subaru says that the concept is indicative of the future direction of the models design.
The grille treatment identifies the model instantly as a Legacy- though a more powerful and muscular demeanor is apparent. Headlight projectors are aligned vertically, and some LED running lights help set things off with a cybernetic and high-tech look. A sculpted and raised hood and large front bumper vents suggest some potency in the engine room, and the small mirrors and wide fenders give the concept a sleek and stable look.
There's a 3.6 liter boxer engine under the hood, boasting a low centre of gravity for improved handling and sharpness. The concept boasts a cabin that embodies 'high definition with a feeling of comfort' according to Subaru.
The Legacy has sold over 3.6 million units since its 1989 launch.
