The Lexus RX, the brand's most popular crossover, has inherited a brand-new cloak, unveiled for the first time at the Los Angeles Auto Show. But the few touch-ups still lend the vehicle an air of déjà vu.
Its line is similar to the current one, with the few extra millimetres in length benefiting the wheelbase. The hood, in the image of the IS for example, is a tad more stretched out, and the light clusters, both front and back, are completely redesigned and more prominent.
The cabin has been more intensely revised, the Japanese manufacturer following the trend started by the Germans and gracing its RX with a command wheel for the main functions. Under the hood hides the same 3.5-litre V6, which has been improved, but there are high hopes for the hybrid version featuring Toyota's new technology that allows the battery to recharge simply by plugging it in. A different type of battery is also installed in the RX. The new crossover should hit dealerships early next year. Photos: Lexus
