Joachim Schmidt, Head of Global Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz, said the automaker is currently developing a couple of new front-wheel drive vehicles.
Two or three variants are planned for the United States. A small, CLS-inspired coupe will be launched in the summer of 2013. An AMG version will arrive in Europe later and is expected to be sold in America as well.
A new SUV intended to rival the BMW X1 will follow in the summer of 2014. Once again, both variants will go on sale in Europe before their U.S. launch.
Canadian availability has yet to be determined.
