MINI presented the restyled and updated Mini Convertible to fans at the 41st annual Montreal Auto Show earlier today, showcasing a mildly updated look alongside plenty of new features and convenience.

Fans at the MINI stage were largely comfortable with the new car's appearance, which boasts only subtle changes and is still very much easily identifiable. The revised drop-top gets various updates to packaging, safety and styling while leaving its cheeky personality unchanged.

Designers have tweaked the interior too, and the roof-optional cabin now includes various materials and colors which will allow buyers to customize their own atmosphere within. As many as 16 chrome trim pieces can be installed for accenting, and a navigation system is available for a high-tech ambiance. Standard is an 'Always Open' roof timer that tracks accumulated open-air driving time.

"Like its predecessor, the new MINI Convertible combines all the exciting elements of the current MINI hatch models with the exhilaration of open-air motoring" said Stephen McDonnell, Director of MINI Canada. "The most sophisticated MINI Convertible yet is poised to continue the popularity of this model, offering exceptional performance, safety, economy and unprecedented fun-factor."

Expect this one on sale in time for spring.
