MISSISSAUGA, ON, - As the 2009 CFL(R) season swings into high gear, Nissan Canada Inc. today announced its ongoing support for Canadian football, committing an additional two years of support for the Canadian Football League. In addition to sponsoring the CFL(R) and the 2009 Grey Cup in Calgary later this year, Nissan Canada is supporting five CFL(R) teams for the next two years including the Calgary Stampeders(R), Edmonton Eskimos(R), Saskatchewan Roughriders(R), Winnipeg Blue Bombers(R), and Toronto Argonauts(R).

"Nissan's ongoing partnership with the CFL(R), and now its teams, reflects the value we see in reaching out to the Canadian football audience," said Jeff Parent, Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Nissan Canada. "The CFL(R) is one of the most popular leagues in Canadian professional sports and the loyal fans crave excitement. Through this partnership Nissan will deliver even more exhilaration to football fans this season."

Nissan is supplying each of the sponsored teams with a brand new 2009 Nissan cube(R), available now in Nissan dealerships across Canada. Cube(R)'s expressive and fun design is the perfect mode of transport for those who like to stand out in a crowd! Cheerleaders for the Edmonton Eskimos(R), Saskatchewan Roughriders(R) and Toronto Argonauts(R) will spend the season with cube(R). Football fans will be able to follow all season long as they chat online about their experiences in cube(R) on various social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. It may have a small footprint but cube(R) is bound to make a big impression among football fans this season.

"The cheerleaders' activity on various social media platforms will continue the momentum of our Hypercube campaign, which brought the Nissan cube to the Canadian market exclusively through social media," said Parent. "It continues the cube conversation in a very relevant way." This year, many local Nissan dealerships in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg and Toronto have the opportunity to play a big role in the partnership. In addition to providing their sponsored team with Nissan vehicles, dealerships are encouraged to organize events and promotions with the local team to further leverage the partnership.

Nissan Canada first partnered with the CFL(R) in 2007 and in 2008, built on that support by becoming a proud sponsor of the Toronto Argonauts(R). These partnerships led Nissan to strengthen its relationship with football fans across the country through promotions such as Nissan Game Day, In-Game Promotions, Safeway Touchdown to Win and the infamous TSN's Wendy's Kick for a Million contest.
