Nissan is introducing on the Japanese market a new, ultra-exclusive version of the high-performance GT-R coupe, the Spec-V edition.

The coupe has undergone a considerable amount of mechanical updates in order to improve its already outrageous performance. Only available decked out in Black Opal, the coupe is substantially lighter. It boasts a slew of carbon fibre accents, including the spoiler and grille as well as cabin highlights.

This GT-R only offers two seats. Driver and passenger enjoy Recaro carbon fibre seating, while the rear seats have been replaced by a storage space, also made of carbon fibre. The wheels are forged aluminum and were developed in-house by performance accessories firm NISMO specifically to meet the car's potential. The brakes are more powerful on this edition, as they're made of carbon and ceramics.

Raw performance is enhanced by the updated transmission as well as the increased management of the turbochargers. Unfortunately, the manufacturer hasn't mentioned the estimated output, but we can definitely anticipate over 500 impatient ponies.

The model will only be available in Japan as of February 2 at seven approved dealers. Nissan is offering the GT-R Spec-V from 15,750,000 yen, around $205,000. The possibility of exporting the car to other markets hasn't been mentioned, however. One thing's for sure, collectors and fans of high-performance machines are enviously awaiting the arrival of such a coupe here.
