BMW's handsome new 7-Series flagship is readying for launch following its scheduled appearances throughout the autoshow circuit this winter. Available as the 750i or the extended-wheelbase 750Li, BMW's biggest car is aimed to take on the Lexus LS, Mercedes S-Class and Audi A8.
The new 7-Series models boast a new interior, new visuals and new powertrains for the 2009 model year. Both are powered by a 4.4 litre V8 engine that delivers 400 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft of torque thanks to direct injection and a pair of turbochargers. Expect 0-60 times in the mid five-second range.
Owners get push-button alteration of ride and attitude courtesy of the Dynamic Damper Control and Dynamic Driving C systems, and the latest generation of BMW's iDrive interface is employed as well.
A heads-up display, lane-departure warning system and night-vision can all be found here, as well as adaptive cruise control, dynamic xenon lights and a full suite of entertainment gadgets.
