The Formula Tour 1600 series saw two different race winners. Rémy Audette captured victory in race 1 while Olivier Bonnet finished first in race 2. Having claimed first and second places, Audette became the new series' champion, taking the crown away from veteran Didier Schraenen.
The two heats of the Toyota Pirelli Cup were also very hotly disputed. Veteran racer Yves Legris entered the weekend as the overall series' leader. He finished twice in fourth place and collected the championship with a total of 107 points. Following Legris in the final standings are Jean-François Veilleux (98 points), Jean-François Dumoulin (87), Jacques Bélanger (77) and Benjamin Distaulo (75). In the Hankook Touring series, Bruno Desfossés (Acura RSX-S) became the new series' champion. In Saturday's race, Marc-Antoine Camirand drove his BMW Z3 to victory while on Sunday Mathieu Audette (Honda Civic) arrived home in first place. Unfortunately, our colleague at Auto123.com, Pascal Bastien (Honda Civic Si-R), suffered from terminal engine problems during one of the practice session. Second in the point standings, Pascal was therefore unable to fight Bruno Desfossés for the championship. Photos: Philippe Champoux
