A (very attractive) nod to the original Corvette

The very first Chevrolet Corvette ever made rolled out of its Flint, Michigan plant on June 30, 1953. For the 2018 model-year, the automaker decided to add a few new colours and options to its iconic sports car, in addition to introducing a special limited edition to honour the car’s 65 years of existence.

Dubbed Carbon 65 and limited to only 650 units worldwide, the new version will be available as of this summer along with the 2018 Corvette Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ, as both a coupe and a convertible. Canadian prices have not been announced, although we do know that in the United States Chevrolet is introducing the Carbon 65 package with a price point $15,000 above the other editions.

The Carbon 65 edition includes a new Ceramic Matrix Gray exterior along with unique graphic elements on the doors and exclusive fender stripes, a jet-black interior and, of course, a host of carbon-fibre trims and components including the rear spoiler, hood section and roof, intake ducts, the steering wheel, badging and even the mirror caps.

The alloy wheels, now 19 inches in front and 20 inches in the rear, feature a Carbon logo on the centre caps and offer a glimpse of the special blue brake calipers that lay behind. Each door also features Carbon 65 Edition sill plates.
