Trying to stay competitive in the crowded mid-size sedan category, the Malibu gets a complete redesign after only four years in its current-generation form.
Chevy's new sedan, with a much more striking appearance than the 2007 model, will get a 2.4-liter ECOTEC inline-4 that develops 164 horsepower, mated to either a 4-speed automatic or a 6-speed. GM's 3.6-liter, 24-valve V6 that produces 252 horsepower will equip higher-end models, and paddle shifters are offered as an option.
In addition, the interior of the new Malibu is a huge improvement over the current one.
