The new Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS and Cayenne Turbo S are celebrating their world premieres at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Both now sit atop their respective model lineup, and they will go on sale in Canada this spring at $151,500 and $178,100, respectively.
The iconic Targa marks its 50th anniversary in 2015 by adding all-wheel drive to the more powerful and dynamic GTS version – a first. Equipped with a 430-horsepower engine (30 hp more than the 911 Targa 4S, yet with the same combined fuel consumption), the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS reaches a top speed of over 300 km/h with a PDK transmission, and the stopwatch records 4.3 seconds for the sprint from zero to 100 km/h.
Meanwhile, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S houses a re-engineered 4.8L twin-turbo V8 that now develops 570 horsepower (+20) and 590 lb-ft of torque (+37), yielding a zero to 100 km/h acceleration in 4.1 seconds – 0.4 second faster than the previous model. Its top speed is now 284 km/h.
Standard features include 21” wheels, LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, and leather seats with Porsche logos on all the headrests. Creating exterior visual accents are the air inlet surround at the front of the vehicle and the undersides of the door mirrors painted in high-gloss black, while the roof spoiler and wheel arch mouldings are body-coloured.
