Despite his nine-point deficit over championship rival Martin Tomczyk (Audi), Bruno Spengler (Mercedes) is determined to play his chances for the title in the two last rounds of the season.

The Canadian driver was close to take the championship lead back two weeks ago in Oschersleben, but he was forced to retire after he suffered a technical failure on his C Class, which gave the second place to Martin Tomczyk behind Mathias Ekström’s Audis.

With only two races to go - Valencia and Hockenheim -, Martin Tomczyk is now in good position to clinch for the title, being nine points ahead of Spengler in the standings. If he scores only one point more than Spengler in Spain, the German driver could secure the title.

But Spengler won’t give up the fight, and is determined to fight in the last two races.

“Oschersleben is the past now," Spengler told Auto123.com.

"It will be tough, but everything is possible, and I will fight until the end as long as the championship is not over. From my point of view, I have nothing to lose now. I will take this round step by step: a good job in free practice, a good job in qualifying, and then in the race. Last year, I took second place in Valencia, but I remember that the Audi were very competitive. But every year is different, and I am confident with my team, who made the C Class improving race by race..."
