Mercedes Motorsport director Norbert Haug wished good luck to his number one driver Bruno Spengler, who has been confirmed to BMW next season.

Bruno Spengler and Mercedes have developed a long-term relationship, as the Canadian driver joined the german brand in 2003, when he moved to F3 Euroseries for two seasons. Spengler then made his DTM debuts in 2005 in a Team Persson’s C-Class Mercedes. His good results promoted him to the Mercedes HWA official team in 2006, until the 2011 season.

In seven seasons at Mercedes, Spengler clinched nine wins, eleven pole positions, 27 podium finishes and twelve fastest laps. He was runner-up in 2006 and 2007, and finished third in the championship in 2010 and 2010.

After Bruno Spengler was confirmed to move to BMW in 2012, Norbert Haug has wished him good luck.

"After nine years of a joint work and success in Formula 3 Euroseries and DTM, Bruno told me he will seek a new challenge, and we accepted," said Norbert Haug. "We wish the best to Bruno, and all the sporting success he deserves. My relationship with him will always be very special one..."
