70 cargo containers have turned up to the Dubai Autodrome, unloading a "gridful" of cars, which can only mean one thing: the 2013 Dunlop 24 Hours of Dubai are just around the corner.

That's 82 teams, and some 400 drivers landing in town from around the world, representing 41 countries.

Notable entrants include Nürburgring queen Sabine Schmitz, five-time DTM champion Bernd Schneider, BMW drivers Jörg and Dirk Müller, Spaniard Lucas Ordonnez, Belgian journalist Stéphane Lemeret, and former F1 driver Mika Salo.

Among the pack, there will be Canadians as well. Jean-Charles Perrin, at the wheel of Rhino's Leipert Motorsport's Lamborghini Gallardo, joins Matthew Dileo, driving Cor Euser Racing 2's BMW 120D.

The grid also features an all-lady team, Racing Divas, coming from the Netherlands and racing a BMW 320D.

The flag drops Friday at 2 pm, local time, which converts into 5 am EST.
