Canadian driver Robert Wickens won both Formula Renault 2.5 Series' rounds presented at Silverstone this weekend, and took the championship lead back.

After a tough weekend in Budapest, where Wickens lost championship lead to his Carlin teammate Jean-Eric Vergne, the driver from Toronto was dominant at Silverstone, with two wins, and two pole positions.

At the same time, Vergne had a difficult weekend, especially in race 1 where he qualified in 7th place. He could not start from the grid after he suffered gear box issues and finally took 13th position at the flag.

Daniel Ricciardo and Alexander Rossi joined Wickens on the podium for the first leg of this double-header weekend.

Wickens was again on pole for race 2, and he was able to maintain the lead until the checkered flag, ahead of Rossi, who had a great come back from his 6th place on the grid, and Ricciardo. Vergne finished the race in 5th position.
