Fernando Alonso carbon copied Felipe Massa’s performance of yesterday by putting the Ferrrari F10 on top of the charts in the final day of the Pirelli Formula 1 tire tests at the Yas Marina circuit of Abu Dhabi.

Another four sets of Pirelli tires were available to each team for the second day of running, made up of two sets of prime tires (medium compound) and two of option tires (soft compound).

“We had no particular problems with the Pirelli tires and we were able to gather a lot of data for their engineers to work on. We are pleased with the way we worked and in how we were able to adapt the set-up of the car to suit the new tires, especially in terms of the work we can do on the new car in preparation for next season.

Sevent-time World Champion Michael Schumacher ranked second in the Mercedes GP car, putting in a lap just 0.156s off Alonso with 15 minutes to go in the day.
