Several web sites published this morning a news that indicated that the FIA has decided to leave the 13th team position vacant for the 2011 season.

Rumors indicated that the FIA has concluded that neither Epsilon Euskadi nor the Villeneuve/Durango alliance had a strong enough combination of engineering and financial resource.

Auto123.com reached Jacques Villeneuve to hear what the former Formula 1 World Champion had to say about the news.

As usual, his comments were honest and straigthforward. What he said was very interesting.

“We did not get any news from the FIA, either good or bad,” said Jacques Villeneuve to Auto123.com.

“I will not say more about this as there is nothing official at the moment,” he added.

“We continue to work hard on our project, to continue the design of the car, to put everything together and to plan our participation to next year’s World Championship,” Villeneuve concluded.
