WRC driver Ken Block, renowned for his Gymkhana videos, was planning a first Formula 1 test on board of an updated 2009 Toyota F1 car when it became clear that his legs are in fact too long to fit!
Block, who had travelled to Toyota Motorsport's factory in Cologne, according to Autosport, could not accomplish his task in the simulator on Thursday.
As it turned out, the steering wheel was impracticable once the driver was finally sited in the car.
The 2009 car is unlikely to be further altered for the driver to use, but the Toyota staff is apparently looking at other alternatives - like a former model of the car - that could suit Block's leg length better.
The test was planned for the final day of the Pirelli tests at the Italian Grand Prix venue, later this year (August 5th).
This is not the first time a driver turns out to be too tall for a Formula 1 car. Several cars had to be altered in the past to fit taller-than-average drivers.
