Frenchman Romain Grosjean of the Lotus F1 Team and Japanese Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber have topped the second day of Formula 1 mid-season testing at Mugello - the private Ferrari test facility - with identical times.
Mid-season testing resumed today in improved weather conditions.
Grosjean set his fast time early in the day while Kobayashi set his with just four minutes to go in the final session. Interestingly, both set the exact same lap time!
Reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel was third in the Red Bull-Renault, driving during the afternoon as Mark Webber did the driving in the morning.
Brazilian Felipe Massa was fifth in the Ferrari F2012, beating Toro Rosso drivers Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo. However, the Australian managed to complete only a few laps as he exited the pit for the first time with only 47 minutes remaining in the day.
Seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher was 8th fastest in the Mercedes AMG ahead of the Marussia of Charles Pic and the Caterham of Vitaly Petrov.
This three-day test session will end tomorrow.
