Italiaracing.net claimed that GP2 series’ front runner Frenchman Romain Grosjean will be back in Formula 1 later this year.
Grosjean, who replaced Nelson Piquet Jr at Renault in 2008, would be driving Nick Heidfeld’s Lotus Renault GP R31 during the first free practice session for the Grand Prix of Singapore on September 25.
After a first experience in Germany, Bruno Senna, nephew of the three-time World Champion Ayrton Senna, is expected to be back in Heidfeld’s car in Belgium and in Italy, driving in both Friday’s first practice sessions.
This puts immense pressure on the shoulders of Heidfeld whose performance has been somewhat disappointing so far this season.
Team Lotus Renault GP did not comment for the moment.
