We all knew he was the new Champion, him included, but Sebastian Vettel had no tangible proof of his title until Jean Todt handed him the Formula 1 Trophy with his name engraved on it yesterday, in Monaco.
The FIA’s 2010 Champions Ceremony was most certainly an occasion to celebrate for the young champions who has been extremely busy since the end of Abu Dhabi’s exciting Grand Prix and the euphoria that followed it.
It was also the occasion for Vettel to give his first interviews since becoming Formula 1’s youngest champion. He told Autosport that he was excited to see his name on this big price.
“I’m now looking forward to collecting more of these and finding ways to hold on to it. My desire is to improve as a driver, but also as a person,” he said, adding that he has learned a lot during this life changing season.
Vettel is now looking forward for the Holiday season to relax and prep up for the 2011 season coming up fast. Defending his title will be number one goal on his list, that’s for sure.
