F1: Vettel and Toro Rosso take historic history in Italy

Young German driver Sebastian Vettel captured his first career victory when he dominated the Grand Prix of Italy today at Monza. The won was also the first for the small Italian outfit of Toro Rosso.


Vettel bagged an astounding and historic victory for Toro Rosso after a commanding performance in wet conditions.

The 21-year-old German also became the youngest race winner in Formula 1 history.

Heikki Kovalainen (McLaren-Mercedes) and Robert Kubica (BMW) completed the podium ahead of Renault's Fernando Alonso, with title contenders Felipe Massa (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (McLaren-Mercedes) having to settle for sixth and seventh respectively.

On the points table, Hamilton has 78 points, one more than Massa.
