Twenty-year old Gianmarco Raimondo, from St. Catharines, Ontario, will contest the 2011 Formula 3 Euroseries with Team Motorpark.
Raimondo began his motorsport career in karting from 2000 to 2006, before he moved on to car racing in 2007 after being chosen to join the Sunoco Team 94 in the Skip Barber Regional Series.
In 2008 and 2009, he competed in the Formula BMW America championship (3rd both years, three wins in total), before he moved to Europe to race in Formula 3 Italy with Lucidi Motors : he finished 16th in the championship, 3rd best rookie driver (best place : 6th at Monza).
Gianmarco Raimondo is preparing himself to make his debut in the Formula 3 Euroseries with German team Motorpark. The first test that was cheduled in Barcelona was postponed, as the Barcelona track will welcome the Formula 1 cars , originally planned to test in Bahrain.
Gianmarco Raimondo will contest his first F3 Euroseries's race in April in Hockenheim, eight years after another Canadian driver made his own debuts in that series : Bruno Spengler.
