F3: Wittmann wins qualifying race in Macau

Marco Wittmann won the qualifying race in Macau ahead of Felipe Nasr and Roberto Merhi.

The german driver, who started from pole position, remained in the lead from start to finish, as the race ended behind the safety car following Jimmy Eriksson’s heavy crash with two laps remaining.

Felipe Nasr concluded in second position, after he was forced to defend his position ahead of Roberto Merhi (who started from 8th place after being handed a grid penalty for an incident with Rosenqvist in qualifying).

Antonio Felix Da Costa was second on the grid, but he broke his gear box at the start. His Tom’s Toyota team-mate Alexander Sims crash in the formation lap.

Valtteri Bottas, who took part to F1 tests in Abu Dhabi with Williams earlier this week, took fourth position ahead of Carlos Huertas. The final round will be presented on Sunday.
