The Florida Winter Series has been created as a championship aimed at professional drivers looking for the best way to prepare for the competitive requirements of the 2014 season.

The championship will enjoy the support of the Ferrari Driver Academy and will take place in Florida over four rounds straddling the months of January and February next year.

The 15 drivers who will be admitted to take part in the Florida Winter Series will have a Tatuus FA10B at their disposal.

The series is of type “arrive-and-drive” as every driver will have a high-level team of engineers and mechanics available. They will ensure the best possible efficiency of the car and equality in the basic technical performance in order to showcase that of the drivers and their ability to improve the car’s behaviour.

The series is supervised by Anton Stipinovich, who previously worked in Formula 1 with McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull, and Luca Baldisserri, Director of the Ferrari Drivers Academy.

The three tracks chosen to host races are Homestead, Sebring and Palm Beach. There will be four rounds and one collective test:

January 22 Miami-Homestead (collective test)
January 25-27 Sebring (Round 1)
February 3-5Palm Beach (Round 2)
February 12-14 Miami-Homestead (Round 3)
February 17-19 Miami-Homestead (Round 4)

The entry list will be published shortly.
