Canadian Minister of Transport Marc Garneau is alerting the public after more than 100 consumer complaints were filed against four different Fiat Chrysler (FCA) models.

They are:

  • Chrysler 200 (2011-2013)
  • Chrysler Sebring (2007-2010)
  • Dodge Avenger (2007-2013)
  • Dodge Journey (2009-2016)

Nearly 300,000 units are affected. Apparently, a defect in the power steering return hoses may result in a loss of power steering. Garneau is now inviting public comments or additional information to help determine the extent of the problem. No recall has been issued yet.

“Canadians deserve to know that the cars they rely on to get to work and transport their families are safe,” he said. “I reserve the option of forcing a recall if corrective measures are not applied in a satisfactory manner. Manufacturers should know that we have high standards for Canadian vehicles, and we expect them to live up to these standards at all times.”

Owners of the aforementioned vehicles can submit their feedback to Transport Canada by April 29, 2016 using this link
