Ford CEO Mark Fields yesterday announced during a first-quarter earnings conference call that the company is indeed working on a new electric car to replace the Focus Electric and rival the upcoming Tesla Model 3 and Chevy Bolt.
Little is known about the vehicle, which could be called “Model E” as Ford has a pending trademark application on that name. It would likely be manufactured starting in 2019 at a new Mexican plant that Ford announced earlier this month.
Look for a range of about 320 kilometres just like the Bolt and Model 3. We’ll let you know as soon as we have further details.
