Rémy Audette and Olivier Bonnet claimed one victory each in the two races of the Formula Tour 1600 Series held at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivières.

Coupal had the pole for Sunday’s race. The early part of the race was highly entertaining with several passes everywhere in the field.

On lap 8, Jerimy Daniel hit the outside wall with his right rear wheel. The impact broke the drive shaft which caused the engine to explode. The incident put a large quantity of oil on the line, forcing the officials to red flag the race.

From the restart, Olivier Bonnet led the race from Rémy Audette, while Didier Schraenen and Michel Bonnet battled it out for third place.

After 17 hard fought laps, the chequered saluted the victory of Olivier Bonnet who crossed the line in first place, 2.4 seconds ahead of Audette, Schraenen, Michel Bonnet, Pascal Bellemare and Luc Théroux.
