Rookie driver Esteban Gutierrez (Lotus ART) clinched his first GP2 win in the second round in Valencia.

The reigning GP3 champion and Sauber F1 reserve driver took the lead when polesitter Josef Kral, who was standing in first position since the beginning of the race, missed his restart after the safety car period.

Gutierrez was able to maintain his lead, while Kral was forced to retire after a spin in lap 14.

Luis Razia and Giedo van der Garde took 2nd and 3rd.

Championship leader Romain Grosjean, who won race 1 on Saturday, was involved in a crash in the first lap with Gonzales and Pic, which brought the safety car out.

Jules Bianchi, who started from the back of the grid after his accident in race 1, had a great catch up and finally took 7th place at the checkered, barely missing the points zone.

In spite of his retirement, Grosjean remain championship leader, but Van der Garde is now only one point behind.
