Starworks Motorsport has confirmed 23-year-old Brendon Hartley would carry on racing with the team at the second round of the 2013 Grand-Am season.

Hartley, also a test and simulator driver for Mercedes AMG in Formula One, will be piloting Starworks' No. 8 Ford/Riley with Scott Mayer, at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), in Austin, Texas, March 1-2.

The former Formula Renault 2.0 champion had a disappointing start to his Grand-Am career, retiring on lap 441 of the 24 Hours of Daytona.

A lot is expected of Hartley, given his experience of the COTA circuit, gathered at the wheel of Mercedes' simulator.

"We have some high expectations for Brendon this race," said team boss Peter Baron.
