The waltz of confirmation for the next Rolex Daytona 24 Hour event is only starting up as we are getting closer to the 49th edition, which will be held on January 29, 2011.
Five-time overall Daytona 24 winner Hurley Haywood, who has announced his retirement from the series in 2010, will return for this one race only in January, in hopes to win a sixth title on board of the Brumos Porsche 911 he will share with Leh Keen and Andrew Davis.
Reigning series’ champions Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett also confirmed their return on board of the No. 01 Target/TELMEX BMW/Riley.
Hollywood actor Patrick Dempsey will participate in the highly popular event with his Dempsey Racing team. Joe Foster and Charles Espenlaub will share the wheel of one the the team's two Mazda RX-8 swith their team owner for the event.
NASCAR drivers Brendan Gaughan and Andy Lally join the alignment in the No. 67 driven by Steve Bertheau, Wolf Henzler and Spencer Pumpelly. Kenny Wallace, also from NASCAR, will co-drive the No. 68 Porsche GT3 with Ryan Eversley, Daniel Graeff and Ron Yarab.
