San Francisco, CA - A majority of consumers plan to take a road trip this summer according to a study conducted by Harris Interactive® on behalf of Petrofix. Many adults who are taking a road trip report that gas is the number one expense they are budgeting for; 92 percent confess that it will be important to find the lowest-priced gas during their trip.

Petrofix, an online service that controls gas prices for individuals and small businesses, also found that nearly all consumers are concerned about rising gas prices in the next year.

Of the 93 percent of adults who spend money on gas, 82 percent said if gas prices rise over the next 12 months they will take steps to control their gas spending.

"The survey's findings confirm that there is a significant demand for a gas price cap service like Petrofix," said Edward Lee, co-founder of Petrofix. "Gas prices are a top concern for the average consumer and family, and Petrofix has a solution that can give budget conscience consumers much needed peace of mind."

"Petrofix allows customers to fix their gas costs even if gas prices are unpredictable. Customers can sign up for a plan to cap gas prices whether it's for three months or two years," said Alex Pabon, co-founder of Petrofix. "The best part is, Petrofix puts a limit on gas prices without locking you in if gas prices fall - you can still benefit if gas prices fall at the pump. If gas prices rise, Petrofix will compensate you monthly by check or credit card. Last summer, customers would have saved up to 30 cents per gallon net of the initial fee."
