Michelin is taking advantage of the international window provided by the Detroit Auto Show to launch its Energy Saver all-season tire technology designed for passenger cars travelling under 16,000 km per year. The tire is part of the Green X range and will likely be marketed during the summer of 2009.
With the Energy Saver technology, Michelin's engineers will enable consumers to reduce their fuel consumption by way of a lower rolling resistance while maintaining all the essential safety characteristics of the tire, such as braking on wet pavement. The Green X range includes a wide variety of tires ensuring, as their name suggests, fuel-efficiency and low CO2 emissions: - The Michelin HydroEdge for passenger cars features a 140,000-km manufacturer's guarantee, a modern design and exceptional performance on wet roads. - The Michelin LTX® M/S2 for trucks features a 112,000-km guarantee and ensures optimal safety in all conditions. - The Michelin X-Ice® Xi2 for cars and SUVs is the best winter tire available. - The Michelin Pilot ® MXM4® was designed for sporty driving and provides excellent handling all year long. - The Michelin Energy TM MXV4® for passenger cars ensures good performance in all seasons. - The Michelin Primacy TM MXV4® strikes a balance between handling and comfort, no matter the conditions, and features a 100,000-km guarantee.
