Jaguar has revealed the all-new XE midsize luxury sedan, which will arrive in Canada in 2016 as a 2017 model. Featuring a class-exclusive aluminum-intensive monocoque, it's the smallest and lightest of all Jaguar models.
Under the hood of the 2017 Jaguar XE is an all-new 2.0L 4-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine producing 161 horsepower or a 3.0L supercharged V6 rated at 335 horsepower, depending on the trim level. Speaking of which, there will be five:
- Pure (SE in the U.K.);
- R-Sport;
- S;
- Prestige;
- Portfolio.
The sophisticated and spacious interior of the 2017 Jaguar XE includes the InControl Touch infotainment system with 8” touchscreen, body-hugging, heated/cooled front seats offering a sporty driving position, and available heated rear seats with a 40/20/40 split (a Jaguar first).
The Jaguar XE is also the first car in the world to use a high-strength aluminium alloy made predominantly from recycled material. As mentioned above, the body uses over 75% aluminum content, which far exceeds any other sedan in its class.
The exact release date and pricing for the 2017 Jaguar XE will be announced later.
