Honda's compact SUV, the CR-V, has found over 150,000 owners in Canada to date, with cumulative totals of about 2.5 million units sold in 160 countries to date. It seems apparent that Honda has done something right with the CR-V- and for 2007, it's about to get better.

Safety is an important factor for today's shopper, and Honda has ensured the new CR-V will satisfy. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure ensures excellent crash impact performance. Front side

airbags with Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) are included, as is an Antilock Braking System (ABS) paired with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and even a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Abbreviations aside, Jim Miller, executive VP of Honda Canada Inc says "for 2007, the re-designed and re-engineered CR-V builds on its solid reputation with increased functionality, and the highest levels of standard safety features in its segment."

A front wheel drive model will be available, while improvements were made to the real-time four-wheel drive system to enhance rear-wheel torque delivery. Under the hood, a 2.4 litre engine i-Vtec engine generates 166 horsepower while achieving claimed mileage of just 7.3L /100 km on the highway.

Once again, for safety, capability and economy, it seems like the new CR-V is geared up to be a leader in its market.
