This is what happened to one of the leading French teams at the Le Mans 24 Hour motorcycle race, run this pastweek end on the permanent Bugatti circuit. The Le Mans 24H car race uses surrounding highways in addition to the permanent track for a much longer and quicker lap.

The 55 bike was up to third overall after 10 hours, when it caught fire. The never-say-die team did go back in the race and finished 31st after losing some 4 hours fixing the bike. Presumably, they also fixed the faulty dry-break filler nozzle.
