IZOD IndyCar Series CEO Randy Bernard will hold a press conference in Indianapolis February 13th to highlight the challenges the series still has to face.

For starters, Bernard will address the rumors concerning the return of the Milwaukee Mile in 2012 and the possibility of having a new venue in Fort Lauderdale. Bernard said the Fort Lauderdale project doesn't need to be rushed, and the return to Milwaukee hinges in part on local and state financial support.

A possible return in Orlando at the Walt Disney World Speedway has been proposed by local officials but according to Bernard, the track would require a lot of modifications, including the installation of SAFER barriers to be up to the IndyCar standards.

As for Houston, it looks that an announcement could be made and that it will be more than likely on the IndyCar's schedule in the near future. The future of the Baltimore Grand Prix will also be discussed but it appears that everything is coming along and that a new promoter could be announced shortly.

As far as series’ officials are concerned, there have been 27 engine contracts signed as of today, and they expect the count to go up to 30.
