There was good news for the Canadian racing fans as race organizer Octane Motorsport announced that it had reached a final agreement with the City of Edmonton and will be able to present the 10th round of the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series on July 22, 23 and 24 at Edmonton City Centre Airport.

The agreement confirms that the Montreal-based promoter will have the rights for the event for the next three years and that the race will now be held at the Edmonton City Centre Airport new circuit, designed on and around the Eastern runway.

"We are extremely glad to finally be able to officially invite racing fans to gather in Edmonton in July. It is now a reality; the popular Edmonton Indy is back on the IndyCar Series calendar," said François Dumontier, President of Octane Motorsport Events Inc.

"It's great to have the Edmonton Indy back on the IZOD IndyCar series schedule because throughout the last couple of years we made a lot of friends and very loyal supporters,” said the driver of FAZZT #77 entry, Canadian Alex Tagliani.

“I'm Canadian and I want to race in front of my Canadian fans and sponsors. With all I think for us with all the efforts and work that we're doing to bring lots of visibility for the series in Canada very important to keep as many races as possible,” Tagliani added.

All necessary details concerning tickets sales will be provided in a few weeks as soon as Octane’s offices in Edmonton are ready.
