Some of the Chevy-powered drivers were on hand Tuesday at the Auto Club Speedway at Fontana to conduct some tests and Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves was the fastest runner of the day.
Among the other drivers present were his teammate Will Power, Dragon Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais, Ed Carpenter and Andretti Autosport’s Marco Andretti.
Sato to pair with AJ Foyt?
To some, it may be farfetched, but according to reports, former Formula One driver Takuma Sato could be on the verge of signing with AJ Foyt Racing for the 2013 IZOD IndyCar campaign.
Sato, a protégé of Honda and with the backing of Panasonic, could be called to suit up to drive the No.14 Dallara Honda ABC Supply.
Meanwhile, the team has announced that Conor Daly will test for the squad at Sebring International Raceway December 13th -- just two days before his 21st birthday.
Daly, who will be testing an Indy DW-12 for the first time, is the son of Derek Daly, the former Formula One and CART IndyCar driver.
Foyt is looking forward to run also its No.41 car and he has already confirmed that Chase Austin would run the next Indy 500. Wade Cunningham is also expected to share time in the No. 41 across a 19-race calendar spread among road, street and oval tracks.
