Professional race car drivers Jeff Gordon and Lewis Hamilton will make appearances in “Cars 2”, the new animation movie produced by Disney/Pixar due to be released in June.
Jeff Gordon, the driver of the No. 24 DuPont NASCAR Sprint Cup car will turn into Jeff Gorvette, an up-and-coming Chevrolet Corvette C6.R that's “turning hoods wherever he competes.”
More than just a cameo, Jeff Gordon's character will compete as a “respected competitor - and legitimate threat - at the World Grand Prix”.
Disney/Pixar makes no obvious connection to Geff Gordon's actual roots in NASCAR, but the character of Jeff Gorvette is a Chevrolet and will wear infamous No. 24 like Gordon's actual Sprint Cup car, although obviously it isn't an Impala.
Lewis Hamilton will also make an appearance. The former Formula 1 champion recorded his lines in a studio in Los Angeles the week following the opening round of the F1 season in Australia.
On his Twitter page, Hamilton wrote he had dinner with legendary British actor Michael Caine. "I had to pinch myself!" he added.
