The ever-growing karting PSL/CRG outfit will be offering a range of new services this year.
Born 12 years ago, in Pointe-du-Lac (Qc), PSL/CRG now has a second base – overseen by Louis-Philippe Gelinas – located at the ICAR motorsports complex near Mirabel.
There, at PSL Montreal, they have everything to fulfil the needs of karting enthusiasts: from chassis to engines, from spare parts to tires and even safety gear.
Training is provided as well, under the watchful eye of Rotax double World Champion Pier-Luc Ouellette. His tips can help you clock faster lap times or obtain a competition license, if you're looking at getting started in racing.
Speaking of which, PSL Montreal will also organize club races, for many different classes.
"Those races will be held Saturday afternoons, typically from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. That way, the competitors – usually aged between 30 and 40 – can enjoy both the track and the rest of their day," Gelinas explained.
"There will be the Rotax DD2 class, in which 30-horsepower machines fitted with a two-speed gearbox go up against each other – those races are increasingly popular, specially among the gentlemen drivers. For a reasonable amount of money, they get tremendous sensations at the wheel.
"We will also have the new Briggs & Stratton class up there, perfect for the newcomer on a budget. The four-stroke engines are sealed right at the factory, yet they offer more power than the Honda equivalent. Arrive-and-drive packages will be available for that class.
"Arrive-and-drive racing is a proven recipe: you arrive and… drive. No hassle, no trouble. You just have to enjoy,” he added.
What more, PSL now has folds all over North America: "We have representatives in Ontario, the Maritimes, North and South Carolina, Texas and even California. Our experience grew as the years went by. Today, we've reached such a level that people as far as Brazil trust our equipment, even for the most important races.
"It's a testament of our level of seriousness and competitiveness,” Gelinas concluded.
