That's right: Lamborghini is dropping manual transmissions from all future models and instead focusing on their new fully automated transmission. The Aventador already features Lamborghini's latest engineering feat, a 7-speed, single-clutch transmission, and R&D director, Maurizio Reggiani promised that the newly redesigned Gallardo will feature only an automated transmission as well.

Why? Well, according to Lamborghini only 1-2% of their buyers actually want a manual transmission. Based on those numbers, Reggiani concluded that manual vehicles held no place in the Lamborghini world. Add to that the fact that a manual transmission creates a break in the electronic chain of command that essentially harmonizes a vehicle and makes it run smoothly, and you've got all the reason in the world to enjoy your auto Lambo.

So, you might not get three pedals in your next Lamborghini, but at least you can be sure it will drive smoothly in the city and on the open road and be built with such painstaking care, that you'll feel like royalty every time you get behind the wheel.

Pff, who needs to shift gears anyways?
