Unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show earlier this year, the new Lamborghini Urus crossover is about to turn even more heads by going from concept to production. Sources told Autocar that it will likely happen in 2016.
The Italian automaker hopes to sell 3,000 units a year, which would instantly triple its presence in the marketplace. The Urus is expected to carry a starting price of €170,000, or about $211,000 at today's exchange rates, making it the cheapest Lamborghini model in the lineup.
This new crossover will share its platform with the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and the upcoming production version of the Bentley EXP 9. The engine will be a 4.2L V8 rated at about 600 horsepower.
