On the high-downforce, twisty road circuit of the Hungaroring, the les powerful machinery of the LMP2 category proved to be unbeatable. Jonny Kane, Nick Leventis and Danny Watts’ Strakka Racing HPD ran without the slightest technical problems over the entire distance and scored its second victory in LMP2 and first overall in the 2010 Le Mans Series season today.

In fact, six LMP2 cars finished in the top 6! Jonny Kane, Nick Leventis and Danny Watts made history with the very first overall victory for a LMP2 car in the Le Mans Series.

The more powerful LMP1 cars encounter difficulties on this busy circuit, especially for passing other cars. Nigel Mansell 's two sons, Leo and Greg snatched the first victory in the Le Mans Series in the LMP1 class despite seven overall.

With consistent lap times, Leo and Greg Mansell held a six-lap advantage over the second-placed Rebellion Racing. Rebellion Racing had one of their best races of the season as they crossed the finish line as the runner-up, courtesy of a very ballsy drive by Neel Jani and Nicolas Prost.

Vanina Ickx, Pierre Ragues and Franck Mailleux were able to repeat their Portuguese result as they once more finished third, their second podium in a row.

In LMP2, the Strakka Racing Honda won the race, finishing ahead of the Ginetta-Zytek de Amaral and Pla, and the Pescarolo-Judd of Lahaye and Nicolet.

In LM GT2, the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Richard Lietz and Marc Lieb claimed victory, finishing 10th overall.
