Team Rebellion’s Lola-Toyota driven by Neel Jani and Nicolas Prost set the best performance in qualifying in Estoril, last round of the Le Mans Series championship.
Teams Rebellion and Pescarolo, who will fight for the LMP1 title on Sunday’s race for this final round, will share the first row of the grid, as Neel Jani set the quickest lap in qualifying ahead of the Pescarolo-Judd driven by Collard, Tinseau and Jousse, and the second Lola Rebellion driven by Bellichi and Bouillon.
Greaves Motorsport’s Zytek-Nissan, with Ojjeh, Lombad and Kimber-Smith, was the quickest of the LMP2 cars, and fourth fastest overall. The team is en route for the title in its category. Schell, Schulthis and Martin have already secured the Formula Le Mans title, but they still have to take the teams’ championship. In Estoril, the Oreca prototype driven by Hartshorne, Graves and Kapadia was quickest of the FLM cars.
With three wins and a second place, the Ferrari F458 AF Corse driven by Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni already secured the GTE Pro championship after Silverstone. In Portugal, the Italian squad was beaten in qualifying by the JMW’s F458 with Bell and Walker at the wheel.
Nicolas Armindo and Raymond Narac are the best placed drivers for the GTE Am title, and they confirmed their domination by clinching the pole position aboard their IMSA Performance’s Porsche 997.
