Audi's Allan McNish qualified second, setting the first front row of the season for the team. His teammate, Mike Rockenfeller qualified fourth.
Jacques Villeneuve and his teammates Marc Gené and Nicolas Minassian will start the race from third place even though they registered the best times on yesterday's two official practice sessions.
