Lincoln fans can look forward to advanced and exciting new vehicles in the future, as hinted by the significantly redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKS that premiered today at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The base 3.7L V6 develops an extra 26 horsepower over the outgoing model’s version (for a total of 300 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque), yet burns slightly less fuel. Meanwhile, a 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 (355 hp, 350 lb-ft) accompanies higher trim levels.

Every 2013 Lincoln MKS receives a 6-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive coming standard on EcoBoost models and as an option with the 3.7L engine.

Handling will be taken care of by a Continuously Controlled Damping system that adjusts suspension settings up to 500 times per second, as well as larger, more capable brakes, a more responsive steering, plus a Torque Vectoring Control system which improves balance and cornering agility.

While the exterior sports a newly styled front section, the interior is highlighted by smooth lines that sweep up from the centre stack and out to the door panels – a styling cue which Lincoln says will define their future models.

The MyLincoln Touch driver interface also makes its debut in the 2013 MKS.
