Mazda recently discovered and informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the fuel filler pipe on 2014-2016 CX-5 crossovers could rupture during a rear-end collision, and could potentially cause fuel leakage.
Therefore, Mazda is stopping sales indefinitely and recalling all units. Approximately 264,463 vehicles are affected in the U.S, and 48,412 in Canada.
No accidents or injuries occurring in the subject vehicles as a result of this condition have been reported so far. We’ll keep you updated.
