McLaren has confirmed to Top Gear that a track-only version of the P1 supercar will be built exclusively for a select group of McLaren customers (less than 100).
The company previously contacted P1 buyers to gauge their interest in a limited edition designed for the track ― a direct threat to the upcoming 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari XX.
This exclusive new model will be even more powerful than the stock 916-horsepower McLaren P1. Production will begin only when all 375 units of the latter find a home.
